Action Research and How I Might Use It

After finishing my week 1 assignment on EDLD 5301 class, I learned how important an action research is for the educational organization. It is a meaningful way to grow professionally, engaging all the team members to work towards a common goal. All the members of the organization become practitioners which mean that they are more actively involved in the research process versus just being an outsider, focusing in just explaining a process. It is a reflective process in which a team comes together to find solution to a specific situation.
Research action promotes reflection which   is an important skill in leadership because it allow principals to step back, look at all the information gather and ask questions of what is working  and what requires an immediate  inquiry .
I would like to promote this kind of deep thinking at my school through the new learning communities that our new principal will try to implement this coming school year. This will allow my team members to become an active part of the new decisions and changes that we were already announced that will happened in our school. This will also allowed that the decisions made are base on the common good of all the members involved in the learning community.
